The Most Eclectic Songs from the 1980s
Lew Singer started Living the '80s over three years ago. It was his idea to bring the best songs from the '80s that no one performs anymore — except the bands that are still out touring — and give them a new home. There were so many great iconic songs from the '80s that are rarely heard anymore (let alone heard live in public) because they weren't in Billboard's one, two, or three slot in the Top 100.
Lew has been playing piano and singing since age eight — an accomplished musician in classical and pop music who has produced two CDs of original songs. He founded Chain Reaction (now Majesty of Rock), Florida's premier Journey/Styx tribute band. When not on stage, he is Dr. Lewis Singer, practicing chiropractic in Boynton Beach.
Andrea holds a Master's Degree in Classical Saxophone from the University of Texas and began piano at seven and sax at ten. After moving to Florida she spent many years in theatre pit orchestras across South Florida — bringing extraordinary versatility to every Living the '80s performance.
Michael studied at the renowned Drummers Collective in NYC under Chet Deboe and Kenwood Denard. A veteran of the New York City music scene, he relocated to Florida in 2016. Influenced by legends Hal Blaine and Billy Cobham, he has seamlessly integrated Roland digital drums into his performances since 2007.
A composer, conductor, singer, guitarist, and educator, Juan holds degrees from FAU and FIU. He teaches Music and Sound Production at SouthTech Academy High School and is an active composer, arranger, and performer throughout the South Florida music scene.
Big John picked up the bass at twelve and hasn't stopped since. From the Katie Perkins Band (country) to Street Survivors (Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute), he has played Classic Rock, Blues, Country, and Southern Rock across the Northeast and now calls South Florida home.
Born in NJ with music in her DNA, Lana holds a BA in Music & Sound Recording from the University of New Haven. An All-State vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, she even has photography credits in the Average White Band's album "Times Squared." She brings world-class ears to every Living the '80s show.

Living the '80s is a six-piece South Florida band dedicated to bringing the most eclectic and beloved songs of the 1980s back to life on stage. Founded by Dr. Lewis Singer, the band was built on a powerful premise: the '80s produced hundreds of iconic songs that rarely get performed live today simply because they didn't crack the top of the Billboard charts.
With a powerhouse lineup featuring lead vocals and keyboards, saxophone, flute, guitar, bass, drums, and professional sound engineering, Living the '80s delivers a rich, full sound and high-energy performance that takes audiences on an unforgettable journey through the decade. They have performed for crowds of up to 1,000 people at city amphitheaters, chamber of commerce festivals, restaurants, and private events throughout South Florida.
